Forget roses, champagne and romantic dinners for two…newly-weds Tony Romo and Candice Crawford opted for a more raucous way to celebrate their first week of marriage.

After getting wed last weekend in Texas, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback and his beauty pageant wife invited all their friends along for their honeymoon to Mexico.

The fun-loving group enjoyed a day out on a yacht yesterday and were spotted drinking beers and partying as if they were on a booze cruise.

Laid back Romo, 31, wore a funny T-shirt saying, ‘It always starts with hold my beer and watch this,’ while his beautiful blonde wife looking stunning in a bright pink bikini.

The drunken bash on the water seemed like an odd choice for a honeymoon after such a lavish wedding, but a current NFL lockout between the players and team owners meant that Romo didn’t know if he would be working or not this month.

The uncertainty of the American football star’s training schedule put ‘a dent’ in any lengthy honeymoon plans, his sports reporter bride said prior to the wedding reports RadarOnline.com.

Instead they opted for a more local holiday where they could jet home at a moment’s notice if the dispute is resolved.

The pro footballer and his 24-year-old bride exchanged vows at Arlington Hall, Dallas, on May 28 in front of 600 friends and family including Candice’s famous actor brother, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford.

When they get back from their honeymoon, former Miss Missouri and her athlete husband will have a full kitchen to create domestic bliss around.

Items on their gift registry for US stores Crate and Barrel and Macy’s included a silver three-tier cupcake stand, a waffle maker that makes heart-shaped waffles, five French fry holders, two gravy boats and amber candles.

Romo is believed to have proposed to Crawford on her 24th birthday and they have been together since the summer of 2009.

The Dallas Cowboys star previously dated singer Jessica Simpson, who is prepping to walk down the aisle with another former NFL player, Eric Johnson.

Simpson’s ex-husband Nick Lachey is also getting ready to marry after throwing a wedding shower with fiancée Vanessa Minnillo on May 29 in Los Angeles.
