Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, is embracing Parisian fashion while showing support for Team USA at the Paris Olympics. Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelce, attended the U.S. women’s field hockey team’s opening game against Argentina on Saturday, July 27.
The U.S. team, composed entirely of Olympic rookies, faced a tough match against Argentina, resulting in a 4-1 loss. Despite the setback, the team is gearing up for their next game against Spain on Monday, July 29.
Photographs from the event captured Jason and Kylie Kelce in the stands, dressed in patriotic red, white, and blue attire. Jason wore a navy blue sweatshirt emblazoned with “USA” and a matching blue beret, which he mentioned to the Associated Press was a purchase from a local souvenir shop. Kylie complemented her husband’s look with a white jacket featuring blue and red stripes on the sleeves, worn over a T-shirt and jeans.
The official USA Field Hockey X account shared several photos of the couple at the event, including a group shot with the team. Following the game, the Kelces spoke to AP about their excitement to attend the Summer Olympics, a rare opportunity given the usual overlap with NFL training camp.
“When we found out that we were going to have an opportunity to go to this, the more we thought about it, we were like, ‘Let’s take advantage of it now that we can actually do it,’” Jason said. “We love sports, we love competition, we love world events.”
Jason, who co-hosts the “New Heights” podcast, added, “This is such a unique place where the entire world gets to come together and bond over competition and sports.”
Kylie Kelce, who has a personal connection to the sport, having played field hockey in college and currently coaching, expressed her longtime desire to attend the Olympic Games. “When they qualified to come to Paris, I was like, that kind of makes sense. And then when I got to sit down with Ashley and Kelee, it was kind of a no-brainer,” she said, referring to U.S. players Ashley Sessa and Kelee Lepage.
Earlier this year, Kylie shared a TikTok video with Lepage and Sessa as part of her “Places Kylie Has No Business Being” series, highlighting her enthusiasm and support for the field hockey community.
Reflecting on her interactions with the athletes, Kylie remarked, “It was just really cool to sit down and talk with them about what this means to them, how they’ve looked forward to it and what it took for them to get here, and it’s so amazing to see them on this stage.”
She continued, “It’s just sort of this full-circle moment of I feel like the field hockey community really bands together. No matter what level you’re playing, you can appreciate what this is.”
Jason and Kylie Kelce’s presence at the Olympics underscores their passion for sports and their support for the U.S. field hockey team as they compete on the world stage.
