Fresh Off $87M Eagles Deal, I’m Eyeing a New Lawn Mower Purchase

LANDON Dickerson seems to have some pretty modest financial goals despite a massive new contract.

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed a four-year $87 million extension with Dickerson.

It’s the richest contract for a guard in NFL history.

Dickerson was asked in a press conference if he can get his head around his level of riches now and whether he had any particular plans for the money.

“I have a financial advisor for a reason,” Dickerson said.

“I don’t know, maybe I’ll get a new lawn mower. It’s something I’ve been looking into.”

A former second-round pick in 2021, Dickerson was heading into the last year of his rookie contract.

The Eagles team is going to look very different in the 2024 season due to the retirement of Jason Kelce.

And Dickerson is expected to line up to Kelce’s likely replacement in the team, Cam Jurgens.

In three seasons, the 25-year-old has twice made it to the Pro Bowl.

On his lucrative new deal Dickerson said, “It just shows a lot of respect, how much trust they have in me to continue to grow as a player, develop and do good things for this team and this city.

“Going into my fourth year now, I think that I can absolutely step up and have more of that leadership role.

“The extension really shows the respect and the potential that the coaches and Howie (Roseman) think that I have as a player.

“That only makes me want to continually try to get better, keep improving on my game day after day.”

The Eagles will be using the offseason to try and banish memories of their alarming finish to the 2023 campaign.

They fell away from 10-1 in November to finish 11-6 and were then comfortably beaten by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wild Card Weekend.
